As an added attraction, the museum is set in the historic
farm village of Pittsford, home to four 150 year old covered bridges. In addition
to having one of Vermonts' fish hatcheries, Pittsford is the location of the first
US patent.
In John Steinbeck's novel "To a
God Unknown", the main character, Joseph Wayne, left
his rocky hill farm in Pittsford for the fertile valleys
of Central California.
